FAQ

Last Updated: June 27, 2025

Got a question? You've come to the right place. We've put together answers to some of the things people ask us most. Think of this as our little coffee chat, just for you. If you still can't find what you're looking for, don't worry! Just drop us a line at [email protected]. We're here to help.

Getting Started

Is this only for Thai people?

Not at all! We're so happy you asked. While our heart is in Thailand for now, our doors are open to everyone, everywhere. You'll find lots of sellers offering bilingual products (Thai/English), and we're dreaming big about expanding to other Southeast Asian countries soon. So come on in!

As for selling, here's the important bit: you'll need a Thai bank account because that's how Stripe works here. This is a requirement we can't work around right now. But we're really hoping to expand to other countries in Southeast Asia soon, so please stay tuned!

Do I need separate accounts for buying and selling?

Oh, great question. And nope! You just need one account for everything. We know that's a little different from other places, but we designed it that way on purpose. So many talented people in Thailand are creating amazing things and buying tools to help them grow, so we thought, why make them juggle two accounts? Simple is better, right?

What exactly are "digital business products"?

I love this question. Think of them as business shortcuts, all wrapped up in a neat little file. You know that super-complex financial model that probably took someone months of caffeine-fueled nights to perfect? Well, now it can be yours in seconds. We're talking about the real-deal templates, calculators, and frameworks that successful businesses actually use. From Excel sheets that magically calculate ROI to PowerPoint decks that can charm investors. Basically, if it saves you time and helps you make money, you'll find it here.

Buying Questions

Why can I only buy from one seller at a time?

I know, right? It feels a little weird. Here's the thing: Thai banking rules say each payment has to go to one single account. It's kind of like how you can't split a PromptPay payment with your friends. Same idea, just for businesses. We know it's not perfect, but on the bright side, it gives you a moment to really appreciate one creator's work before you dive into the next.

Why don't prices include VAT or fees?

Because nobody likes surprise fees at checkout! The price you see is exactly the price you pay. Simple as that. Here's how it works:

  • Most of our sellers are small entrepreneurs, and in Thailand, sellers with an annual turnover under 1.8M baht are exempt from charging VAT on digital products.
  • For sellers who are registered for VAT, the price you see already includes it.
  • Our sellers take care of our platform fee and Stripe's processing fees from what they earn.
  • So you always pay exactly the listed price, nothing more.

Okay, don't panic! I'd be confused too. Your purchase is totally safe. For security, our download links take a little nap after an hour. Just head over to your Purchases page and click "Download" again to get a fresh one. You can do this anytime. We do this to make sure your cool new stuff doesn't accidentally end up on some sketchy file-sharing site. It's your product, for your eyes only.

What's your refund policy?

Due to the nature of digital products, we can't offer refunds for most situations. That said, we absolutely want to be fair when things go sideways. Let's talk through how this works.

We'll happily refund your purchase if:

  • The product is completely different from what was promised.
  • The files are corrupted or won't open.
  • Major features shown in the previews are just... missing.

But we can't refund for:

  • "This isn't my style" moments.
  • Finding something similar cheaper elsewhere.
  • That "oops, I changed my mind" feeling after downloading.

The good news? You can shop with confidence! Our sellers work hard to show you exactly what you're getting through detailed previews, thorough descriptions, and real buyer reviews. Take a moment to check these before buying to ensure you're getting something you'll love.

What happens to my purchases if a seller deletes their account?

We keep your purchases available for 6 months after a seller leaves. You can always re-download from your Purchases page during this time. We don't send notifications to buyers when a seller deletes their account, but you'll see a notice on your Purchases page. For peace of mind, we recommend backing up your downloads to cloud storage like Google Drive or iCloud.

Selling Questions

I'm not a company. Can I still sell?

Absolutely, yes! We built this platform for everyone. Whether you're a freelancer, a consultant, or just someone who's created something amazing that others could use. You don't need a formal business registration at all. To get paid, you'll just need a Stripe account that's connected to a Thai bank account, since Stripe in Thailand only sends payouts to Thai banks in THB for now.

How long does product approval take?

It's pretty quick! Usually, we get to it within 24 hours on weekdays. A real person on our team actually looks at every single submission. If it's been a little longer, maybe peek at your email. We might have sent a question. A little tip from us to you: products with clear, beautiful previews and detailed descriptions tend to fly through the approval process.

How exactly do the commission tiers work?

We wanted to create a way to celebrate your success, so we came up with these tiers based on your lifetime sales. It's our little way of saying thanks!

  • Bronze (฿0+): 20% commission
  • Silver (฿5,000+): 18% commission
  • Gold (฿25,000+): 15% commission
  • Diamond (฿100,000+): 12% commission

Your tier gets updated automatically as you sell more, and the new, lower commission applies to all your future sales. It's not retroactive, but it's a great little bonus for your hard work. You can track your progress in the Revenue Calculator.

Can I update my product after people bought it?

Yes, and it's such a great thing to do! You can upload a new version anytime, and everyone who already bought it will be able to download the update for free. It's a wonderful way to fix little bugs or add new features.

Payment & Money

When do I get paid as a seller?

Okay, let's talk about the fun part. Getting paid! The money lands in your Stripe account almost immediately after a sale (minus our fee and the Stripe fees, of course). From there, Stripe usually takes about 7 business days to get it to your Thai bank account. I know, that first wait can feel like an eternity. But once it starts rolling in, it becomes a nice, steady flow.

What are the Stripe processing fees in Thailand?

Ah, fees. Never fun, but always important to know. These are what Stripe charges, and they're taken out automatically from each sale:

  • PromptPay: 1.65% + 7% VAT on that fee
  • Domestic Cards: 3.65% + ฿10 per transaction + 7% VAT on all of those fees
  • International Cards: 4.75% + ฿10 per transaction + 7% VAT on all of those fees

Just a heads-up: that 7% VAT is on Stripe's fee, not your sale price. And the ฿10 flat fee is per checkout. To make it all less of a headache, we've got a Revenue Calculator to help you see what you'll actually earn. For every last detail, you can see Stripe's official pricing for Thailand right here.

Show me the math. What do I actually earn per sale?

Let's break it down! Imagine you sell a gorgeous ฿1,000 template and you're on our Gold tier (that's a 15% commission).

If your customer pays with PromptPay:

  • Sale price: ฿1,000
  • Digiwava fee (15%): ฿150
  • Stripe fee (about 1.77% with VAT): ฿15
  • You receive: ฿835

If your customer pays with a credit card:

  • Sale price: ฿1,000
  • Digiwava fee (15%): ฿150
  • Stripe fee (about 3.91% + ฿10.70 with VAT): ฿44
  • You receive: ฿806

Remember, our Revenue Calculator is your best friend for figuring all this out.

Do I need to handle withholding tax (WHT) on Stripe fees?

Okay, deep breath. We're going to tackle this together. This sounds way more complicated than it is, I promise. Yes, it's a legal requirement for Thai businesses, but here's the thing: Stripe really helps you out.

Your Legal Obligation: Under Thai law, when you pay service fees to a foreign company like Stripe, you're supposed to withhold 3% tax and send it to the Revenue Department. This applies to everyone, even individual sellers who are in business.

How Stripe Helps (This is the good part!):

  • To make this easy, Stripe actually pays you an extra 3% each month to cover that payment.
  • This means you don't have to use your own money for it. It's their way of helping you handle the paperwork.
  • You're still the one who needs to send that 3% to the Revenue Department.
  • And remember, this is only on Stripe's service fees, not your total sales revenue.

The Monthly Process (You can do this!):

  1. Get your Stripe invoice (they send it by the 10th of each month). If you need help, Stripe has a guide on how to download tax invoices.
  2. Calculate 3% of the Stripe fees (before VAT) from that invoice.
  3. Pay that amount to the Revenue Department by the deadline (usually the 7th or 15th of the next month, but always good to double-check their website).
  4. Issue a withholding tax certificate and send it to Stripe.

About the WHT Certificate:

  • The withholding tax certificate (หนังสือรับรองการหักภาษี ณ ที่จ่าย) is what you'll send to Stripe.
  • You can get the standard form from the Revenue Department's website or use the RDT's e-Withholding Tax system.
  • Many accounting systems can also generate this automatically.
  • Sign it (and stamp it if you're using a company seal).
  • Then send a scan by email and pop the physical original in the mail to Stripe.

For all the details, like where to send it, Stripe has a WHT guide for Thai businesses.

Timeline Example (to make it less scary):

  • Let's talk about fees from May.
  • By June 10th, Stripe sends your invoice for May.
  • By July 7th (or 15th if you e-file), you'll need to pay the WHT for that invoice to the Revenue Department.
  • The certificate needs to get to Stripe within 3 months, or they might ask for that 3% back.

Cash Flow Example (so you can see it in action): If Stripe fees are ฿1,000 (before VAT):

  • Stripe charges you: ฿1,000 + ฿70 VAT = ฿1,070
  • Stripe gives you back: ฿30 (for the 3% WHT)
  • You pay the Revenue Department: ฿30
  • So, your net cost for Stripe's service is still ฿1,070. You're just helping them with their taxes using money they provide. See? Not so bad.

It's a bit of a process, but staying on top of it keeps you out of trouble with the Revenue Department and ensures Stripe doesn't have to recover that 3% from you. You've got this.

Do I need to pay taxes on my sales?

The short answer is yes. The long answer? Also yes. How much you owe depends on your total income and business structure.

The good news:

  • If your annual turnover is under 1.8M baht, you are exempt from charging VAT on your sales.
  • Stripe gives you yearly summaries to help make tax time easier.

The reality check:

  • You do need to pay income tax on your earnings.
  • Keep good records from day one. Trust me, you'll thank yourself come tax season.

Look, we're your biggest cheerleaders, but we're not tax advisors. Just promise me you'll keep good records, okay? Future you will be so grateful.

I've earned over 1.8M baht. Will Stripe handle the VAT for me?

First off, congratulations! That's a huge milestone and something to be proud of. This is where you graduate to the next level of business responsibility, and we're here to cheer you on.

To be clear: Stripe and Digiwava do not calculate, collect, or remit VAT on your behalf.

Here's the thing: because you operate your own business through a Stripe Standard account (it's just connected to our platform), you are fully in charge of your own taxes. Once you cross that 1.8M baht threshold in a year, it becomes your responsibility to:

  1. Register for VAT with the Thai Revenue Department.
  2. Adjust your product prices to include the 7% VAT.
  3. File your monthly VAT returns and remit the tax you've collected.

We know this can sound a little intimidating, but think of it as a great sign of your success. We strongly recommend talking to a local accountant as soon as you get close to this threshold. They can make this whole process so much easier and ensure you're doing everything correctly.

Platform Policies

Can I sell the same product on other sites?

Yes, absolutely! It's your work, you own it. We don't ask for exclusivity.

Someone copied my product and is selling it cheaper. What now?

Deep breath. We take this very seriously. Email us right away at [email protected] with:

  • A link to your original product.
  • A link to the one you're concerned about.
  • Anything you have that shows you created it first (like file timestamps or old emails).

We promise to look into it quickly and take care of it.

Someone left me an unfair review. Can you remove it?

I understand how much that can sting. We only remove reviews if they:

  • Have profanity or personal attacks.
  • Are clearly about the wrong product.
  • Are from a competitor just trying to be sneaky (and yes, we do check for that).

But a review that says "it wasn't what I needed" or "not worth the price"? Those have to stay. One person's "unfair" can be another person's honest feedback. The good news is that most buyers are really smart and can tell the difference between a real issue and someone just having a bad day.
